GOLDEN SATURDAY

Good tidings to you all out there surfing the stupor highway on this balmy Saturday night!

Haven't we had some rain? By jingo! Cherry's been making little stockings with birdseed & they've sprouted so quickly she's popped little googly eyes on them already! Six days of continuous precipitation has been a goldsend at our little sheltered workshop here at Goldlands. I think she's got plans to distribute them to gold peoples homes for Christmas. What they'll do with them is anybody's guess but she does give it her all, which is why I've kept her as my PA for so many years now.

So what did you all get up to today? Cherry & I were seriously starting to get cabin fever. You can only do SO much daggy dancing, baking, jigsaw puzzles & re-runs of Prisoner Cell Block H. When the little golden ray of sunshine hit Newcastle around lunchtime we poured ourselves into our finest terry towelling shorts & tees & took ourselves out for a little stroll around the coastline.

Things we saw that made us smile - a lady sunbaking with her nipples accidentally showing; an ill tempered child getting an ice cream as a reward for its revolting behaviour & then watching as it *clutches sides* dropped to the ground (the ice cream not the child unfortunately!); a surfing grommet putting some serious moves on a young woman with his fly wide open & last but not least, a dog cocking its leg on the door of Town Hall just as the local politicians were going in to argue some more about tearing down the fig trees in Laman St.

We may not get out much, but Cherry & I always find something to be cheerful about here in sunny Newcastle.

So as we busy ourselves here at Goldlands tonight making up my merch in readiness for the Kids Cabaret Monday week December 5th at the Gallipoli Legions Club I bid you a fond adieu & wishes for golden slumbers,

Love, tinges of schadenfreud & hopes you buy lots of my I LOVE NEWEY merch next week,

Deniiiiise
